I teach students, from as young as 5-year-old, to young adults. It brings me great pleasure to contribute to the development of their potential and to experience the magic that music brings to their lives. I have prepared students for Royal Conservatory and London College of Music examinations. Many of my students progressed through to the top levels and even were awarded with a Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations Gold Medal. Even though I have prepared many students for examinations or auditions my teaching is not focus in exam preparation but in transforming my students into musicians, they become violinists with a deep understanding of music that allows them to connect with the music they play. I believe that students should have as many opportunities to perform as possible because they can see all their hard work materialized in beautiful music and it provides them hard evidence of their progress. I have a master’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Calgary. Prior to that, I was a violinist with the Carlos Chavez Symphony Orchestra in Mexico City for more than a decade and the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra in Nebraska. Currently I collaborate with different Symphony Orchestras around the Ottawa area, to mention Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, Gatineau Symphony Orchestra, Kingston Symphony, and Pembroke Symphony Orchestra. I am passionate about performing and I enjoy guiding my students in the process of becoming musicians. One of my goals is that they feel comfortable when they take the stage to share their music. The focus of my lessons is based on the idea of a rounded music education, hence throughout the lessons we work on violin or piano technique, music notation, music theory, musicianship, and performance. También participó en diferentes conferencias donde presentó diferentes artículos, por mencionar, “The difficulties of intonation in violín playing” Roberta Romero López cuenta con más de 20 años de experiencia docente. Ha preparado a estudiantes para los exámenes del Royal Conservatory y del London College of Music. La mayoría de sus alumnos progresaron hasta los niveles más altos e incluso fueron galardonados con Medalla de Oro en los Exámenes del Real Conservatorio de Música. Además de haber preparado alumnos para exámenes o audiciones, sui enseñanza no se centra en la preparación de exámenes sino en transformar a los estudiantes en músicos, se convierten en violinistas con un profundo conocimiento de la música que les permite conectarse con la música que tocan.
